Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith refutes Troy Ave's claims of the rapper being in contact with Top Dawg Entertainment. Tiffith revealed that he and Kendrick Lamar never had a conversation with Troy or any member of Troy's team.

"4 the record... I've never had a convo with Troy ave or any 1 in his camp.. neither has KDot.. yesterdays story was fake news... #TDE," Tiffith wrote on Twitter today (April 19). "There's your answer...Now everybody kan stop calling and emailing me asking if it true..."

The story originated from Troy's 32-minute track "Truth Be Told PSA" in which he claims that Kendrick reached out to him while the Brooklyn rapper was in jail. “I see what you’re going through, man. Send my love,” K. Dot said, according to Troy.

Not long after their alleged talk, Troy called up his then-manager Hovain to work out a deal with TDE. “I said, ‘Yo, put the plan in action, man,” Ave said. “We gonna go out West when I come home, and we gonna sign with TDE."

Troy expressed his admiration for TDE and blamed his former manager for not making the deal happen.

“I always liked what they was doing,” Ave said. “They kinda independent like us, but way bigger because they went and got with a major. They got shit that I like to see, like loyalty and unity, that type of shit. Cool. I give [Hovain] the whole play. Of course, he can’t make that happen at all. At all. He doesn’t make it happen. The whole shit just fell through.”

Tiffith's dispute of Troy's assertions is sure to lead to more criticism of the controversial rapper. Troy has also been widely criticized for comparing himself to 2Pac.
