And just like that, another epic week of dope new hip-hop releases is in the books, and just in time to make your day party playlist.

Last Saturday night (May 5), Childish Gambino pulled up on Saturday Night Live before dropping off "This Is America," a striking audio-visual meditation that had folks talking all week. With bits of serene crooning and ad-libs from the likes of Quavo, BlocBoy JB and more, the track is an indication that there's plenty more dope things from Donald Glover to come on the music front.

Two days later (May 7), Wale unloaded his Self-Promotion EP, a four-track reminder that Mr. Folarin is not to be played with when it comes to this rapping thing. The standout track is "Cassius (Excellency)," a song that finds the proud MMG rapper dissecting the dimensions of racism while flaunting his Black pride.

That same Monday, Skepta, whose last album took home the U.K.'s famed Mercury Prize, dropped a brand new single. This one is called "Pure Water," and the British rhymer's flow lives up to the title of his new tune.

Repping the Gunshine State to the fullest, Ski Mask The Slump God pulled up with his eagerly awaited Beware the Book of Eli project. The tape is loaded with bangers, but the best one is Ski's Danny Towers-assisted track, "Geekin," a song that finds the rapper flaunting some very solid melodic capabilities.

Repping Quality Control, City Girls delivered their debut project, Period, earlier today (May 11). The project's very retro "I'll Take Your Man" is an early contender for best track on the project. While it might be a bit early to say it's definitively the best offering on the project, the tune definitely stands out enough to make our list.

In a move that drew a ton of attention immediately, Playboi Carti unleashed his debut album, Die Lit, this week. While it's likely certain songs will hit everyone differently over the next few weeks, we already know Carti's Nicki Minaj-assisted banger, "Poke It Out," is a certified slapper.

New music Friday releases also include Tee Grizzley, who finally released his Activated album. An early standout on the project is "2 Vaults," a Lil Yachty-assisted track that finds the Detroit rhymer flaunting his well-honed technical skills. Here's to more and more listens of that new Tee!

On the more melodic side of things is Bali Baby's "Backseat," a tune that sounds like a premier playlist mainstay—like a good portion of her newly released Baylor Swift project. Shout out to Bali, who continues doing big things.

Also dropping this week is the great Ty Dolla $ign, who teamed up with 21 Savage for a throbbing new banger by the name of "Clout." The track finds both Ty and 21 doing some big-time flexing as they float over a hard Smash David, Rekless & Hitmaka-produced instrumental. Dolla $ign's melodies plus 21's icy monotone for the win.

Not to be lost in the shuffle, Junglepussy served up her super-solid JP3 album, and while virtually every track on the new LP is a slapper, her Rico Love-assisted tune "Get Down" goes the hardest.
