Big Boi to Join Christina Aguilera on Her 'Liberation' Tour

After seen his son graduate high school (where his longtime friend, Andre Benjamin, was also in attendance), Big Boi's schedule has just gotten a little busier. He's set to join Christina Aguilera on her Liberation tour.

The tour, which is in support of her forthcoming album of the same name, is set to kick off this September. Aguilera's album is due out on June 15, and bends more toward hip-hp than her previously R&B influenced records. To that end, Anderson .Paak, Ty Dolla $ign, 2 Chainz and Kanye West all worked on the album.

“To me, there’s nothing like an amazing hip-hop beat,” Aguilera told Billboard, adding that the hip-hop sound reflects her "personal tastes."

That said, it's no surprise that Big Boi is heading out on the trek with her. He recently signed to L.A. Reid's recently revived HitCo label and released the track "All Night," which debuted in an Apple campaign for the iPhone X earlier this year.

"We have a lot of history. He’s the guy that gets it. I don’t have to explain the music," Big told Billboard about linking up with Reid. "I was only at Epic because he was there. At this point, I don’t even need a label, but me and L.A., what he do and what I do goes hand in hand."

Before he heads out with Aguilera, Big will knock out third leg of his Boomiverse tour, which kicks off on May 17. He's also set to play a mayor in the new Superfly remake, which hits theaters June 15.

As for the Liberation tour, tickets go on sale May 18. Check out the dates below.
