Common continues to leave his mark outside the world of rap. Apparently his latest conquest is the world of TV production.

Today (Aug. 24), the folks at Deadline reported the Chicago artist, who has acted in movies like American Gangster, Barbershop 3 and John Wick 3: Parabellum, recently signed an overall TV deal with Lionsgate. The deal is one that will see him use his Freedom Road Productions company to "produce and develop" new TV series. Sounds dope, and it looks like Common is pretty excited.

“I’m proud to expand my relationship with the innovative content creator Lionsgate,” Com says of his new arrangement. “The studio offers a collaborative, creative freedom that is unique in the entertainment industry, which makes them a perfect partner for Freedom Road Productions. I’m looking forward to teaming up with Kevin, Chris and the Lionsgate collective on exciting and fresh television programming.”

Common previously worked with Lionsgate when he acted in the production company's films Now You See Me and the third entry into the John Wick franchise. Now, it looks like he's about to take his partnership with the company to the next level, and there's really no telling what could be next.

While Common is known primarily for movie roles, he's also starred in AMC's Western drama, Hell on Wheels. It's unclear whether or not Com will step in front of the camera for any of his new TV endeavors, but it's definitely a possibility.
