Much like Singles peppered in music cameos throughout its Seattle-based ensemble relationship film in the '90s, the new film Song to Song has its fair share of musician cameos as it traces the lives, loves and career challenges of musicians trying to make it in the Austin music scene.

The film, directed by Terrence Malick, stars Ryan Gosling, Natalie Portman, Michael Fassbender, Rooney Mara and Haley Bennett with a stellar supporting cast that includes Christian Bale, Val Kilmer, Benecio Del Toro, Holly Hunter, Trevante Rhodes and Boyd Holbrook among others. And as stated, there are a number of musician cameos in the film.

In the trailer above, you get a little bit of the idea of the story, with blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameos from Flea and Iggy Pop. Other musicians that are credited on the film's IMDB page include Patti Smith, Florence Welch, John Lydon, Arcade Fire, Iron & Wine and Black Lips.

Both Pop and Flea have plenty of acting credits over the years. Pop most recently starred in Blood Orange and has appeared in the movies Coffee and Cigarettes, Snow Day, The Crow: City of Angels, Tank Girl and Cry-Baby among others. Flea, meanwhile, has credits that include Back to the Future II and III, My Own Private Idaho, The Chase and The Big Lebowski.

Song to Song is due in theaters on March 17.
