So I'm a little behind this week.  Between a wedding last weekend and a trip to Chicago for a Cubs game Tuesday night I couldn't let this blog post go by.

Monday my big sister Heather celebrated her 40th birthday.  From our group of six children Heather is the oldest, but I'm not using this post to roast her in anyway.

Heather is a Grinnell graduate that resides in the Twin Cities with her wonderful husband, Rich, and their two children Rose and Lily.

She is smart, caring and compassionate.  I envy her ambition to try new things and live life to the fullest.  She is a great big sister.

With a great distance between us, full time jobs and children it's not always easy to see her.  A few weeks ago she was back in town for our sister Carolyn's bridal shower.  (This is the same sister we once tricked into drinking perfume... but that's another blog for another day.)

We took an afternoon and visited Eagle Point Park with what family was home.  Not only is there nostalgia when you return to this old stomping ground, but it's wonderful to now share a place we have so many great memories with our families next generation.

I love you Heather and I'm very proud to call you my big sister.

Happy (belated) birthday.
