The nominations for the 2018 NAACP Image Awards have been unveiled, and some of our favorite names in hip-hop are in big categories. JAY-Z and Chance The Rapper are included on the nominees lists for multiple categories, including many music sections, as well as Entertainer of the Year.

As far as the "Recording" section of the nominations, it includes categories for Outstanding New Artist, Outstanding Male and Female Artists, Outstanding Duo, Outstanding Music Video, Outstanding Traditional Song, Outstanding Contemporary Song, Outstanding Album, and even categories for other genres including jazz and gospel. Hov has multiple nominations for his 4:44 album in different categories.

While we see rising superstars Khalid and SZA landing in the Outstanding New Artist category, Kendrick Lamar's DAMN. album is going up against 4:44 in the Outstanding Album category. We also will see Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna face off against Mary J. Blige and Kanye West, as well as SZA and Travis Scott in the Outstanding duo section.

The television categories also saw some big names, with Netflix and OWN leading the way with 23 nominations and 17 nominations, respectively.

The 2018 NAACP Image Awards celebrates people of color in many different categories of entertainment including music, film and television. The ceremony also honors those who promote social justice through their creative endeavors, including Chance, Issa Rae, Hov, Bruno Mars, Ava DuVernay and Chadwick Boseman, who are up for Entertainer of the Year.

The awards are slated to air on TV One in a two-hour special on Mon., Jan. 15, 2018, and will be hosted by Anthony Anderson.
