The hip-hop community, Latino music artists and pop culture came together to perform at the Barclays Center for Tidal X: Brooklyn last night (Oct. 17) in an effort to raise money for victims affected by natural disasters in Puerto Rico, Mexico, The Caribbean, Texas and Florida. Needless to say, Tidal had fans turning up on a Tuesday.

Famed radio personality Angie Martinez hosted the show and thanked fans for attending, expressing how essential it was to show support to those in need. Luis Fonsi opened the show with his hit, “Despacito," sans Daddy Yankee, followed by Tee Grizzley, who performed “First Day Out,” the song that put him on the map.

Lin-Manuel Miranda made an appearance and also gave a speech on the importance of helping victims that have been affected by these recent tragic events. The party continued with A$AP Ferg as he came out to “New Level” and his new hit, “Plain Jane,” hyping the crowd up for what was yet to come. With so much energy in the room, the perfect follow-up act was none other than Cardi B and her chart-topping single “Bodak Yellow.” Fans rapped the track word-for-word, which is no surprise since it was the anthem of the summer.

Yo Gotti hit the stage, and he performed both of his No. 1 singles, “Down in the DM” and “Rake It Up.” Chris Brown continued the celebration by singing his well-known track “Party” and “Ayo.” Jadakiss performed two throwback tracks, “We Gonna Make It” and “Knock Yourself Out,” then Fabolous came out to “Ball Drop” and had everyone in Barclays wheezing with “Breathe.”

Fat Joe, who has been seen hitting the pavement hard to raise money for Puerto Rico, performed his new track, “So Excited,” followed by a trip down memory lane with “Lean Back.” It wouldn’t be a classic Fat Joe performance without Remy Ma, who came out to “Money Showers” and “All the Way Up.”

DJ Khaled graced the stage and played his summer track, “Wild Thoughts,” as he did his famous dance and brought out Busta Rhymes and Swizz Beatz. T.I. also came through and performed the Rihanna-assisted song “Live Your Life.”

Other rap acts included, Princess Nokia, Rapsody, Belly, Iggy Azalea, Joey Bada$$, A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, Vic Mensa and Mack Wilds.

Ultimately, JAY-Z shut the show down with both old and new music. Hov stepped onto the stage with a cut from his 4:44 album, “Family Feud.” Of course, with Jay being in his hometown he had to perform the Big Apple classic “New York” and shortly after, had the whole crowd knocking to “Public Service Announcement.”

Celebrities from different walks of life came together for a great cause. As each artist took the time out of their busy schedule for the greater good of humanity. The areas affected by the recent natural disasters aren’t out of the woods yet. To find out how you can help and/or donate go to Tidal.com.
