JAY-Z is one day away from celebrating his 48th birthday (Dec. 4), but he’s already receiving early b-day gifts. On Saturday (Dec. 2), the Brooklyn Nets delivered a sweet surprise to the rap mogul while he was on the “4:44 Tour” in Uniondale, N.Y.

Roc Nation lifestyle specialist Emory Jones (aka Vegas Jones) posted an Instagram video of the huge birthday cake for Hov backstage at the venue. The extravagant five-tier chocolate cake features images from JAY’s animated video for “Story of O.J.,” the Roc Nation “plane” logo, a New York Yankees cap, the Brooklyn Nets insignia, the 4:44 album title and more. On top of the cake is a throwback television set that reads “Happy Birthday Jay!” on the screen and the Brooklyn bridge.

The cake is so vainglorious, it would be shameful to even cut into this sweet confection. A big shout out goes to the baker who designed this lovely cake -- he or she deserves an award for their artistry.

Even though JAY-Z doesn't turn 48 until Monday (Dec. 4), he's been celebrating for the past week. Last Monday (Nov. 27), his wife, Beyoncé, invited 150 guests that included Fabolous, Angie Martinez and Omari Hardwick for a surprise birthday party in New York. The shindig was held in private room overlooking Manhattan. According to an eyewitness, there was no cake but the room was filled with bottles of JAY's “Ace of Spades” champagne and specially crafted cocktails by lothario Albert Trummer.

Happy Birthday, JAY-Z!
