On Monday night (Dec. 3), Kanye West attended The Cher Show musical with his wife Kim Kardashian West in New York City. During the show, the "I Love It" rapper was caught spending time on his phone, which he apologized for and explained that he was simply taking notes.

Following that incident, Kim K confirmed her husband's statement and explained that he felt terrible for not giving the show his undivided attention. "He felt like shit," Kim said during her interview with an E! News reporter. "He was actually taking notes because he loved the production so much."

Further explaining her husband's guilt, Kim said that Kanye felt the need to apologize on Twitter for his rude behavior. "He was the one right away who said, 'Oh my God, I'm gonna tweet. I just need to apologize. There's no excuses. It was rude and I need better etiquette," she said.

As previously reported, Ye was on his phone for quite some time during the show. Actor Jarrod Spector, who stars in the musical, noticed and called him out on Twitter for his behavior.

"Hey @kanyewest so cool that you're here!" Spector tweeted. "If you look up from your cell phone you'll see we're doing a show up here. It's opening night. Kind of a big deal for us. Thanks so much."

After noticing Spector's tweet, Kanye replied on Twitter to explain that he was inspired by the story of Sonny and Cher. "The dynamics of Cher and Sonny's relationship made Kim and I grab each other's hand and sing 'I got you babe' please pardon my lack of etiquette," he tweeted. "We have so much appreciation for the energy you guys put into making this masterpiece."
