In November 2018, one woman sued Nelly for a sexual assault that allegedly took place in the U.K. in December 2017. Just a couple of months after the lawsuit was first filed, the St. Louis rapper met with U.K. law enforcement officials last week. TMZ reported the news earlier today.

During the trip, local authorities interviewed Nelly about the sexual assault accusation, which is one that stems from one woman's recollection of her interactions with Nelly after one of his shows in England.

Sources connected to U.K. law enforcement tell the celebrity news outlet that Nelly's interactions with the police were both voluntary and helpful. A representative for Nelly was quoted saying, "Nelly flew to the U.K. on his own volition last week to work with the police in assisting their investigation to clear his name completely."

Nelly himself spoke out about the allegations when they first surfaced a couple months ago. "The truth will come out, and I will be vindicated,” Nelly told TMZ at the time the allegations came out. “These types of false allegations undermine real claims of sexual abuse/harassment by real victims.”

Nelly, who will take the stage at J. Cole's Dreamville Festival with Young Thug, Big Sean and more this April, was previously accused of rape in September 2017. Nelly and that woman settled mutually in September 2018.
