Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry closed the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards with a bizarro performance of their hit single "Swish Swish."

Perry took the stage atop a gigantic basketball, as dancers dressed as...um...basketball monks of some kind took the stage with hoop nets draped over their faces. The basketball revolved midway through to reveal a buxom Nicki Minaj waiting inside.

Minaj emerged to a rousing response from the crowd to perform her verses in the song. Rocking a striking black and white outfit as the camera swirled around her dramatic intro, Minaj broke things down just in time for Perry to take flight.

That's right--flight.

The pop star was carried through the air via wires to dunk in a giant basketball goal. In case the metaphor wasn't on-the-nose enough for you. The audience also bounced inflatable beach balls designed to look like basketballs.

It was a high-energy close to the show, which featured top performances from the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Fifth Harmony and Ed Sheeran. Taylor Swift debuted the video for her new single "Look What You Made Me Do," and Remy Ma may have gotten a sneak diss in at Nicki earlier in the show.
