One of the most charming aspects of Captain America: Civil War was the relationship between Tony Stark and Peter Parker, the Avengers’ youngest, spunkiest recruit. It”ll be fun to see their friendship blossom in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and a new featurette delves a little deeper into their hilarious mentor-mentee dynamic.

Robert Downey Jr. talks about what initially drew Iron Man to seek out Peter and attempt to help him out.

Tony is kinda keeping a close eye on him and making sure he is a worthy recruit for the Avengers. He’s bright and gifted, and a very talented guy.

Those gifts, of course, are bound to get Spidey in trouble once he tries to take on an adversary that might be too much for him. Tom Holland had some insight into the character as well:

Peter Parker is constantly learning throughout the movie, and he is trying to prove himself to Tony, that he is ready to be an Avenger, he is ready to take on bigger tasks. I saw that relationship as like a big brother relationship.

That desperation to prove himself is definitely going to land our webslinger into some hot water soon, but I for one am very excited to revisit this fun sibling-like dynamic these two characters have built.

Spider-Man: Homecoming opens July 7.
