When it comes to friends in the music industry, Tyga understands the struggles of keeping his business and personal life separate. While he hasn't had much drama in that department—he and Chris Brown have successfully managed to create albums together and keep a lasting friendship for years—unfortunately the same can't be said for the likes of JAY-Z and Kanye West. Following the release of the new album, 4:44, we asked Tyga to weigh in on the topic of Hov's troubled friendship with ’Ye and more for XXL's Views.

After Kanye called out JAY-Z during a rant at his Saint Pablo tour stop in Sacramento, Calif., last year, it was clear there was a bigger rift in their relationship than many fans could have even imagined. Then when Jay dropped 4:44 in June, the Brooklyn MC addressed the Chicago rapper on his track "Kill Jay Z," shedding light on their rocky relationship with revealing lines like, "You walkin' around like you invincible/You dropped outta school, you lost your principles/I know people backstab you, I felt bad too/But this 'fuck everybody' attitude ain't natural/But you ain't a saint, this ain't kumbaye/But you got hurt because you did cool by ’Ye/You gave him 20 million without blinkin'/He gave you 20 minutes on stage, fuck was he thinkin'?"

According to Tyga, the Watch the Throne pair have had such a long history of success as a unit that their fans just want to see them work things out. He uses his own friendship with Chris Brown to drive home his point.

"I think when you have success with somebody like that, together, and so much history and so much success together it's like, OK, once y'all stop, then people are like, 'Ah, well they not cool,'" Tyga tells XXL. "It's like the relationship with me and Chris [Brown]. We haven't did a record in like over a year but I mean like, I throw parties, he comes to my house. That doesn't mean we're not cool. We've had a lot of success together but it's like once I put out a project with Chris not on it or if he puts out a project with me not on it, people are like, 'Ah, y'all not cool,' 'Why don't you do a project.' And it's like, we gave y'all two albums, you know what I'm sayin'?"

Tyga believes fans are more concerned with the music than JAY-Z and Kanye's deeper issues. "I think for them [JAY-Z and Kanye West], it's like, it's probably so much unspoken stuff, you know what I mean, that probably, people, we just really want them to come together," he continues. "That's what it's all about. It's really not about his personal life, his personal life. I think people just want the music because it's like when you give us something like Watch the Throne and you give us a song like 'Niggas in Paris' and then like, that's it, people are like, 'You can't just leave us out here cold,' you feel me? And I think that's how people feel."

Aside from Tyga rooting for a Jay and ’Ye reunion, he also sounds off on the current state of West Coast hip-hop, the father and son dynamic between Lavar Ball and Los Angeles Lakers player Lonzo Ball and the acting in the Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez on Me.
