2 Chainz had his listening party for his upcoming new album Pretty Girls Like Trap Music interrupted by the "Hip-Hop Cops" in New York on Wednesday (June 7).

Page Six reports that 2 Chainz was hosting his party at a gallery in the Soho area of NYC when police swooped in and shut down the event just 15 minutes after the doors opened. Even the Atlanta rapper wasn’t allowed in his own listening party.

Apparently, Deuces didn’t have the proper permits to host the event and therefore the cops had to shut it down. 2 Chainz reportedly begged the police for 45 minutes to not close the event to no avail.

“The police seemed to get joy out of shutting down this event for one of the hottest hip-hop artists," an insider told Page Six. "There were 200 industry people invited to the party, but they shut the doors once 74 were inside." Police threatened those in line with a summons if they did not vacate the area."

"2 Chainz arrived with an entourage of 20, and they wouldn’t let them in," the source continued. "He waited outside for 45 minutes and tried to reason with the cops and the DOB to let his guests inside. He wasn’t screaming and yelling — he was disappointed.”

Depending on who you are asking, The “Hip-Hop Cops” are either a nuisance or saviors in the city. The NYC special task force consists of police officers - some are undercover cops -- who monitor events to reduce the violence in the hip-hop world.

A DOB rep told Page Six that 2 Chainz didn't have a Temporary Place of Assembly certificate, which is required for events that hosts over 74 people. “DOB did not shut down the event. [We] informed the event promoters that they could continue with the event as long as the occupancy did not exceed 74 people. The promoters decided to cancel the event on their own instead of comply[ing] with the occupancy limit.”

2 Chainz did apologized to attendees who left disappointed. The veteran rapper also went on Twitter and posted this:
