Is 50 Cent Making a 6ix9ine Biopic?
On Sunday (Sept. 29), 50 hit up his 25 million Instagram followers to inform them that he's beginning production on his upcoming TV show For Life, which is set to debut February 2020 on ABC after the Oscars. Deep within the comment section of his post, someone asked if the rumor about him buying the rights to a potential 6ix9ine biopic is true. It's not clear if 50 confirmed the rumor, but he didn't seem to deny it either.
"@therealflavorcreator I'm working boy," 50 responded.
The Queens MC, who recently hit the stage for his Tycoon Weekend, has tried to distance himself from 6ix9ine since the rapper was arrested for federal racketeering charges last year. Since then, 50 has publicly labeled Tekashi as a snitch and claimed that the "Gummo" rapper was going to "tell on everything" months before 6ix9ine hit the courtroom.
“[RICO] laws were designed for you not to escape them. When I saw what I saw in the paper, I feel like he’s gonna tell on everything," 50 told DJ Drama and his co-host, Sarah ViVan, on his Shade 45 radio show back in February. "That was the part that wasn’t even in the indictment—the stuff that they're saying that he's talking about are not in the indictment so he’s offering that along with everything else, and then they added those new people to the indictment. I think [after he comes home from jail] that he can make music and people can hear it, but the original core and base that he tapped into won’t rock.”
XXL has reached out to 50 Cent's camp for comment.
