Actress Amy Adams walked the red carpet at the 2017 Golden Globe Awards in a structured sequined black gown, her signature red hair falling in a sleek cascade as she posed with her pal, Avengers and Arrival star Jeremy Renner.

Adams is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama for her part as linguistics professor Louise Banks in Denis Villeneuve's mind-bending sci-fi parable Arrival. This is the actress's eighth Golden Globe nomination; she's won twice for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Motion Picture, in 2014 and 2015, for her leading turns in American Hustle and Big Eyes. She was nominated in the same category in 2008 for starring in Enchanted. That year, she also scored a Best Original Song nod for Enchanted's "That's How You Know." She has three Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture nominations, too: in 2009 for Doubt, in 2011 for The Fighter, and in 2013 for The Master.

Hosted by Jimmy Fallon, the 74th annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony takes place at the Beverly Hilton hotel on Sunday, January 8, broadcast live on NBC beginning at 8 PM EST. The 2017 Golden Globes nominees were announced on December 12, with actress Meryl Streep selected as the honoree of the year's Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award.
