Panic! at the Disco singer Brendon Urie would "love to do music" with Green Day, a band that he said got him "into punk rock." The musician revealed as much this week during a stream on Twitch, the live gaming and video platform where he often connects with his fans.

Urged by a viewer to "actually do a song with" the influential pop-punkers — as Urie and Green Day leader Billie Joe Armstrong were cited as the fan's "all-time inspiration(s) for doing music" — the Panic! at the Disco frontman responded in kind before relaying a story about the time he met the affable rockers at a party. Watch the segment of Urie's stream in the video down toward the bottom of this post.

"Same, though, about Billie Joe Armstrong," Urie replied to the suggestion of a collaboration. "I had the opportunity to meet him. ... I met the whole band that night. That was kinda crazy. I mean, [bassist] Mike Dirnt is one of the nicest people I've ever met, as well as [drummer] Tré [Cool]. They're all so kind. And this was at a party where hundreds, maybe thousands of people were in that room — it was just intense. They're just so personable and very, very nice."

Of course, the vocalist is no stranger to high profile team-ups, as evidenced by his recent collaboration with pop superstar Taylor Swift, "ME!" But perhaps an alliance with Green Day would hold more personal importance for the musician who last year advanced a metal version of a Panic! at the Disco song.

Indeed, Urie added that he "would love to do music with [Green Day] 'cause they're just so fucking talented, and they had everything to do with me getting into punk rock."

Urie and Green Day fans the world over may be in luck as a new song from the veteran punkers is rumored to be released next Friday, July 19. However, a rep for Green Day denied the rumor to Kerrang!
