Before gearing up to celebrate her birthday this week (Oct. 11), Cardi B promised fans that she would release a new freestyle, but unfortunately things didn't go as planned. When the freestyle never dropped, fans shared their disappointment, and now the Bronx rapper is offering up an explanation.

Posting a video to Instagram, Cardi says that her label may be to blame for the freestyle not releasing, claiming that it's delayed for now. She also assures fans that the song is ready and poppin', but fans will have to hold on and wait a little bit longer to hear it.

"I know y'all mad at me, but don't be mad at me though," Cardi explains. "I know I said I was going to drop my freestyle on my birthday or whatever, but like, you know what I'm saying, my label, you know, they got other plans, or whatever the fuck. So I think it's delayed, but like um...yeah, it's delayed. It ain't my fault though. I swear to God because you know, the shit is ready. The song is ready."

Meanwhile, the New York rapper is still sitting on top of the world as her smash hit single "Bodak Yellow" is sitting at its third week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
