Chance The Rapper might be on top of the world with his career, but he recently suffered a tragic loss in his family over the weekend. This past Sunday (May 7), the Chicago MC's aunt passed away from breast cancer after battling with the illness for the past year. Chance revealed the sad news on Twitter today (May 9), sharing a video from back in February of his aunt Kim telling her story to the Inflammatory Breast Cancer Foundation.

"My Auntie Kim lost her battle with Breast Cancer early Sunday morning. She was a warrior and wanted me to share this," Chance wrote on Twitter with the video. "Inflammatory Breast Cancer is commonly misdiagnosed and doesn't come with the same symptoms," he continued.

In the video, Kimberly Bennett shares how she found out that she had stage four inflammatory breast cancer after noticing that one of her breasts was changing color and temperature. She then went to urgent care, where they told her she had cancer. After finding herself skeptical of the results, she went to her primary care doctor, where they confirmed she did have stage four breast cancer.

Chance is making sure her aunt's story is spread, as inflammatory breast cancer is unique, being that the symptoms are different to regular breast cancer. There is typically no lump and can be missed on mammograms, which is why it is often misdiagnosed by doctors.

We are keeping Chance and the Bennett family in our prayers as they cope with the loss of Kimberly Bennett.
