"Unforgettable" is French Montana's biggest hit to date, so fans were a little confused when the rapper forgot who produced the ubiquitous, Swae Lee-assisted banger during a recent appearance on Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club. Check out the moment for yourself below.

The moment came about when Charlamagne Tha God asked French who produced the Jungle Rules track. "Umm, this kid Ben something. Can you give me his name, so I can give him credit," French asks to someone on his team. Mike WiLL Made-It, Jaegen, 1Mind and C.P. Dubb are the four producers officially credited for the song.

While there's a decent chance the producers names merely slipped French's mind, this moment actualized the fears of rap enthusiasts everywhere: producers creating the audio canvases for some of the world's biggest hits without ever getting their due.

It's the sort of thing that's led a few producers to suggest awards shows and unions for their craft, thus ensuring they get the recognition they deserve. Ironically enough, super-producer Sonny Digital predicted that people would have no idea who produced "Unforgettable" when attempting to exemplify the way producers are under-appreciated a little over a month ago. Swae Lee's duo-mate Slim Jxmmi also tweeted out a message calling on fans to appreciate producers after French's faux pas.

Ever the good sport, French corrected his misstep by tweeting a shout out to the "Unforgettable" producers on Thursday (Aug. 3). "Shoutout to @MikeWiLLMadeIt and @jaegen for the biggest record of the year !! And @1MindMuzik #Unforgettable 🌎🙌🏻," French tweeted.

Slip-up aside, French has been up to some big things in 2017, and he spoke to us about some of them in a recent interview. One of those "big things" involves a collab with A$AP Rocky.

Check out the moment French seemingly forgot the names of the "Unforgettable" producers below.
