GFRIEND is officially the latest South Korean act heading stateside for this year's KCON USA in New York City.

Event organizers announced today (Apr. 13) that the six-member group will be joining previously announced acts Twice and CNBLUE on the performance lineup for this year's culture and musical festival, taking place on June 23 and 24 at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.

Following their debut in 2015, the fast-rising Source Music girl group — consisting of members Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB, and Umji — recently released their fourth mini-album The Awakening in March, featuring their infectious, funky retro lead single "Fingertip."

The group released their first full-length studio album, LOL, last year. GFriend has been nominated for Best Korean Act twice in a row at the MTV Europe Music Awards, and won New Artist of the Year at the 2016 Golden Disc Awards.

KCON USA is returning to the East Coast for their NYC area edition for the third year.

The Los Angeles edition of KCON 2017 USA will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center between August 18-20. More artists for both the LA and NY legs of KCON USA will be announced in the coming weeks and months.
