Iowa Hawkeye and Las Vegas Aces fans held their collective breaths last night as form Hawkeye Kate Martin suffered a lower leg injury.

ESPN reports that the incident happened with 1:19 left in the first quarter when Martin appeared to slip on the court. Her reaction to the injury was immediate. Her teammates rushed onto the court and even shielded her from TV cameras.

Martin would be helped from the floor by teammates. Aces coach Becky Hammon said that she was uncertain of the severity of the injury saying that Martin suffered a lower right leg injury, according to ESPN. The good news? Martin was able to return to the bench under her own power to start the second half. It is unclear how much time the rookie might miss.

The bad news for the Aces was more than Martin's injury. Angel Reese had another double-double and Chennedy Carter had a game-high 34 points as the Chicago Sky topped the Aces 93-85. A'Ja Wilson led Las Vegas with 28 points, 14 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 3 steals.
