Rodney the Playful Pup Needs a Cozy Dubuque Retirement Space
Each week, the Dubuque Regional Humane Society is highlighting a "Pet of the Week." The Pet of the Week is available to be adopted via the Humane Society. This week, the Dubuque Regional Humane Society is highlighting another amazing four-legged friend:

The Dubuque Regional Humane Society is excited to introduce this week’s Pet of the Week: Rodney! This big, fluffy gentleman may look like a teddy bear (honestly, he kind of is) but he’s also got a proud, independent streak that makes him truly one of a kind.
Rodney is 7 years old, weighs 93 pounds, and has the kind of majestic fluff that turns heads. His story isn’t the happiest; he was sadly dumped at Dubuque Regional Humane Society's on-site dog park. But Rodney hasn’t let that stop him from being curious, alert, and downright playful. If you bring out a plushy toy with a squeaker? Rodney will be your best friend.
When it comes to vet visits, Rodney prefers a bit of personal space; restraint is not his thing. Like many large senior dogs, he experiences some joint stiffness and occasional soreness, especially around his hind area, so he appreciates people who respect his boundaries.
Rodney is looking for a home that understands the balance between independence and affection. Give him room when he needs it, love when he asks for it, and squeaky toys always. In return, he’ll be a loyal, mellow companion who brings a warm presence to any home.
If you’re considering adoption, please keep senior animals like Rodney in mind! They’re incredibly deserving of spending their golden years somewhere soft, safe, and full of love; far away from the stress of the kennel environment.
