East Dubuque’s New Event Center Brings Energy and Endless Possibilities
There’s something new stirring in downtown East Dubuque, and it’s more than just the smell of barbecue or live music floating through the summer air. Culbie’s Event Center, a newly opened venue at 90 Sinsinawa Avenue, is officially giving East Dubuque a new destination for unforgettable events and gatherings.
Spanning 9,000 square feet, the center includes a spacious 6,000 square foot indoor event hall, a 3,500 square foot patio and beer garden, as well as a 2,200 square foot four-sided bar with indoor and outdoor access. Designed for flexibility, Culbie’s can accommodate events from intimate gatherings of 20 to large celebrations with up to 800 guests. Weddings, corporate functions, expos, fundraisers, and private parties are all on the calendar. In fact, some wedding bookings are already reaching out into 2027!
The vision behind Culbie’s came from three local partners who share deep ties to East Dubuque: Mike Meyer, Toby Culbertson, and Todd Colin. With years of experience in hospitality and a strong connection to the local business scene, they've set out to create a space that feels both polished and rooted in the community.

The venue is already up and running with a variety of soft-opening events. That includes summer parties, live music, and themed dinners. Its official grand opening is set for Friday, August 8th, featuring ribbon-cutting ceremonies, appetizers, drink specials, live music from The Hors d’Oeuvres Band, and community giveaways.
More events are already on the horizon, including the wedding and bridal expo, monthly dinner shows, and a Health & Wellness Expo on August 16th. Guests can also enjoy the bar and beer garden during regular public hours on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
