If you live in Illinois, no matter what car you drive, a car wash is an absolute must when winter is in full swing.

After all the gross weather we've had recently, my car definitely needs a good wash.  Apparently, I'm not the only one because every time I've gone to the car wash there's a massive line and the wait is at least an hour long.  Because I'm impatient, my car is still covered in salt and grime.

It has to be done, though!  Here's why.

Here's Why Regular Car Washes Are Essential In Illinois

The salt on the roads can do some damage to your vehicle overtime.  If it’s left to sit on your car for too long, it can start to corrode the paint, the undercarriage, and even the metal parts of your car.

When you regularly wash your car, you'll get rid of all that gunk and build-up which helps keep your baby lookin' beautiful and good as new!

With salt, slush, and dirt splashing everywhere, it can coat your windows, windshield, and mirrors that'll lead to obstructed visibility.

Plus, your headlights will be brighter when they're cleaned.

By getting a wash, you're protecting your paint, the exterior, and the long-term health of your vehicle.

"Road salt, dirt, and grime can cause premature wear on various car parts, from the tires to the suspension system. Over time, neglecting to clean your car regularly can lead to mechanical issues that can be costly to repair." [rainstormcarwash]

When you keep your car clean, it's easier for routine maintenance and mechanics to find problems more quickly.
