Wisconsin Dells may be most well known for being the "waterpark capital of the world", but now it is home to the state's first and only mountain rollercoaster too!

Summer Adventures in Wisconsin

As the mom of young kids with a family lake house in central Wisconsin, my GPS can practically sense when a trip to the Wisconsin Dells is coming each summer.

My family has enjoyed most of the Dells' waterparks, we've done go-karting and mini golf, we've visited the candy shops, and we've gone shopping. The only family-friendly things we haven't done yet in the Dells is take a famous Duck ride or go on a mountain coaster, and one, or probably both of those things will be happening this summer.

Wisconsin's First Mountain Coaster

Ready for some awesome news? Over Memorial Day weekend, the very first mountain coaster in the state of Wisconsin opened in the Wisconsin Dells, and man, does this thing look cool!

I think what I might like most about the new Wisconsin Dells Mountain Coaster is that it was designed to be safe and fun for people of all ages and courage levels.

Riders can control their speed, and the track's twists, turns, and drops aren't so drastic that even non-rollercoaster lovers will still be able to enjoy the ride.

Check out this POV video someone shared from opening weekend:
