Jay-Z and Beyoncé had an uninvited visitor approach their Hampton home because of a not-so-funny prank committed by a friend.

According to an East Hampton Star's police blotter that was published on July 25, cops were called to the Carters' mansion after an unidentified man arrived at the home and pressed the talk button on the security system and asked for someone who didn't live on the property.

The man eventually left the area, but police, using a photo provided by Jay's security guards, spotted him a few houses down. The man reportedly told police that a friend had invited him to the house and must have been playing a joke. Police escorted him to the East Hampton train station.

Jay-Z and Beyoncé were not at home during the incident. The powerhouse couple's $26 million mansion features seven bedrooms and sits on two acres of land, overlooking the Georgica Pond. It also has four outdoor swimming pools, a basketball court, a media room, a spa and a wellness center.

Although the unsuspecting man didn't get a chance to step onto the property, he now has an interesting story of how he got pranked to go to the Carters' Hampton house.

Practical jokes aside, XXL recently explored the question: Should Jay-Z consider running for political office one day? You can read the piece about Hov's theoretical candidacy in the 2019 Freshman issue of XXL Magazine
