Kanye West, Drake, Travis Scott and More: Highest-Paid Rappers of the Last Year
Forbes released their annual list of the highest-paid celebrities on Wednesday (July 10), and there are a ton of hip-hop's favorite acts on the roster.
Kanye West is the only rapper to land in the top 10, coming in at No. 3 after bringing in $150 million in the last 12 months. A majority of that comes from his Yeezy sneakers line with Adidas, as he has full ownership of the brand and gets 15 percent royalties per shoe on wholesale.
Jay-Z squeezed into the top 20 at No. 20 with $81 million, thanks to the On the Run II tour grossing around $5 million per night, making for a total of more than $250 million. His Armand de Brignac champagne, D'Ussé cognac and stakes in companies like Uber also greatly contributed. (As a reminder, this list is only about the money that celebs brought in over the last 12 months—Hov is officially a billionaire in overall net worth).
Elsewhere on the list, Drake comes in No. 25 with $75 million, Diddy is at No. 28 with $70 million, Travis Scott is at No. 39 with $58 million, Eminem clocks in at No. 57 with $50 million, DJ Khaled and The Weeknd tied at number 87 with $40 million and Kendrick enters the list for his very first time at No. 95 with $38.5 million.
