Karrueche Tran hopes to turn her temporary restraining order against Chris Brown into a permanent one.

Tran will go to court on Thursday (March 9) to tell a judge why Brown must be kept away from her for the foreseeable future, according to TMZ.

The hearing comes after a judge issued a retraining order against Brown after Tran claimed the singer "told a few people that he was going to kill me." Tran also alleged that Brown punched her in the stomach and pushed her down the stairs in the past. One of Tran's friends also secured a restraining order against Brown after the singer allegedly threatened the man with violence.

Tran believes the situation is a dire one as she says Brown might kill her if no restraining order is in place. Brown has maintained his innocence and asserted that his ex-girlfriend is lying. Tran is willing to the take stand and swear under oath to prove her claims though. If Tran is successful, the controversial singer will face jail time if he violates the restraining order.

The new development in the restraining order case follows a report that Brown is on a "downward spiral" thanks to addiction and anger issues. One anecdote from the story detailed nights where the singer used cocaine, Xanax, molly and lean to self-medicate. Brown denied the allegations, stating that he was "not hurting out here."
