Kid Cudi has kept a pretty low profile since checking into rehab last year, dropping his album Passion, Pain and Demon Slayin' in December without much promo. On Wednesday night (Feb. 8) however, he changed that, appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform "Kitchen," one of the standout tracks from the album.

Cudi is pretty stoic throughout the performance, keeping his shades on throughout. He's backed by a string orchestra and keyboard, the Plain Pat and Dot Da Genius-produced track less a rap song and more a sung refrain about searching for love. The performance is a sign that Cudi's health is trending upwards. The album version of "Kitchen" includes uncredited vocals from Jaden Smith, Cudi giving Will's son major props on Twitter after the album release.

Following his release from rehab in November, Cudi thanked a number of people, including Travis Scott, Pete Davidson, Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Jaden Smith, Mike Dean and more, for "opening your hearts and extending your love and support during a troubling time." "Feelin’ great and brand new," he wrote on Facebook, "Can’t wait to run into each and everyone of you and deliver a big hug. Be ready!"

Catch Cudder's Tonight Show performance up top, with no performances or public appearances on his upcoming schedule. Though he appears pretty serious throughout the performance, there's a big grin on his face once Fallon steps on stage, a good sign for Cudi and his fans.
