Logic addresses the difficult but pertinent topic of suicide on his new song 1-800-273-8255, featuring Alessia Cara and Khalid. The phone number in the title is actually the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

In the song, the DMV rapper plays two roles: One person who seems to be on the brink of taking their life and another who offers some inspiration.

"All this other sh-- I'm talkin' 'bout, they think they know it / I've been praying for somebody to save me, no one's heroic / And my life don't even matter, I know it, I know it / I know I'm hurting deep down but can't show it," raps Logic in the beginning of the song.

Then later, as the role of the comforter, Logic tells the suicidal person that they have every reason to live.

"I know where you been, where you are, where you going / I know you're the reason I believe in life / What's the day without a little night? / I'm just trying to shed a little light," he raps.

In between the verses, Alessia Cara offers some hopeful words with her light, yet throaty vocals and Khalid closes the song out wonderfully.

"1-800-273-8255" is off of Logic's forthcoming album Everybody that drops May 5. You can listen to it below.
