'The Defenders' Teases Elektra-fying Return in New Clip

Marvel’s Netflix Defenders has only hinted at its major villains so far, but the closing moments of Daredevil Season 2 gave us a Hand-y clue. Now, a brief new tease appears to showcase a hotly-anticipated resurrection on the way to complicate matters.

In case you somehow managed to skip Daredevil Season 2 on your way to The Defenders, the 2016 finale saw Matt Murdock’s late love Elektra (Elodie Yung) placed in a mysterious chamber by members of The Hand. We never did quite learn what the “Black Sky” was all about, but judging by The Defenders’ latest tease, Elektra may show us herself:

Now set for an August 18 premiere, Marvel’s eight-episode Netflix Defenders will feature among the returning cast Elodie Yung, Jessica Henwick, Scott Glenn, Rosario Dawson, Rachael Taylor, Simone Missick, Deborah Ann Woll, Carrie-Anne Moss, Elden Henson and Eka Darville. Sigourney Weaver will portray the villainous “Alexandra,” while the team-up series will be helmed by Daredevil showrunner Marco Ramirez, and directed in part by Jessica Jones director S.J. Clarkson.
