Fans awaiting Rich Homie Quan's debut album Rich as in Spirit have cause to celebrate as the rapper has just announced a new deal with Motown Records under Capitol. According to a press release, RHQ is already in the studio recording new music under the deal, slated for a spring release.

"First and foremost I would like to Thank God for this amazing opportunity," Quan says in a statement. "I'm excited to be a part of a building that has such great history in music. I look forward to this new chapter in my life and giving my fans the best I have to offer."

Speaking to XXL, Quan says he plans to drop a new mixtape called Back to the Basics sometime in March. Later this year, he'll be dropping his official debut album Rich as in Spirit. He has two songs, "Word of Mouth" and "Reflex," that he thinks are going to be huge, and named Metro Boomin and Zaytoven as some of the producers he's been working with recently.

Earlier this month, Rich Homie posted a video teaser promising new music on the way. "I don’t know why my fans feel as if I fell off,” he says in the clip. “I just feel as if, he got to go back to the basics. I know I haven’t fell off.” The final title card teases a project or song titled “Back to the Basics.”

Quan was previously signed to Think It's A Game Entertainment, he and the label suing one another for unpaid royalties and breach of contract. This past August, the two parties reached a settlement, Quan saying in a statement, "I feel like LeBron James, I’m ready and looking forward to ending 2016 with a bang, my fans will not be disappointed.”

With a new home, RHQ can get back to delivering music to his fans, his last release coming in the form of December's "Ya Ya" with YFN Lucci.
