Attention action movie (and particularly martial-arts action movie) fans: Put Triple Threat on your radar. The trailer for the film debuted at Comic-Con today, and at first glance it looks absolutely bonkers. It starts a Mount Rushmore of modern action heroes, including Tony Jaa from Ong-Bak, Iko Uwais from The Raid: Redemption, and Scott Adkins from Ninja II: Shadow of a Tear. And hey, Michael Jai White and Michael Bisping are in there as well. A veritable Murderers’ Row of guys who play murderers who kill people with their feet.

Here’s the film’s official synopsis:

A hit contract is taken out on a billionaires daughter intent on bringing down a major crime syndicate. A down and out team of mercenaries must take on a group of professional assassins and stop them before they kill their target.

If you read that synopsis: Good job. I’m proud of you. The plot synopsis of Triple Threat, a movie starring Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, and Scott Adkins, is very important. If it was just these guys fighting, it’d be bad. It’s the plot that really matters here.

Deadline says that Well Go USA have bought the domestic rights to Triple Threat, with plans to bring the film to the United States “in early 2018.” We are fully and completely ready for that. Triple Threat looks like a more martial-arts heavy variant of The Expendables, and a perfect platform to bring together a lot of our favorite action heroes. And then to have them beat each other up, obviously.
