Wyclef Jean blesses fans with new music, dropping "The Ring," which is off of his upcoming new J’ouvert EP, his first recorded release in seven years. On "The Ring," Wyclef raps about his winnings and how he's looking to get back to the top of the hip-hop mountain. He also playfully name drops Tribe Called Quest, Big Pun, D.R.A.M., Fat Joe, DJ Khaled and more. This record is surely going to be picked up by sports channels and leagues, especially the NFL, which host the Super Bowl next weekend.

J’ouvert is the precursor to Wyclef's forthcoming album titled Carnival III: Road to Clefication that's dropping next summer on the 20th anniversary of Wyclef’s critically acclaimed debut The Carnival. The hip-hop vet previously released other tracks from his forthcoming EP, including "I Swear" feat. Young Thug and "Life Matters."

In honor of President Obama leaving office after serving eight years, Wyclef write an open letter on behalf of hip-hop to thank the former Commander in Chief for always supporting the culture.

"It’s definitely personal to me because I remember when I first met you, you were still a senator. And I think we was at a Black Caucus event and I remember you said, “Michelle, Michelle! Tell Wyclef what I be training to. Tell him what’s on my iPod right now.” And she was like, “The Carnival.” So, thank you for bumping The Carnival. Once you bumped The Carnival, I definitely knew you would be a president full of nothing but culture. So we gon’ get into it. And, of course I want to thank you, first of all, on behalf of the entire hip-hop community. And if anybody could put the Fugees back together, it’s you because you’re perfect at negotiating."

Bump "The Ring" above.
