I was off for a few days for a quick trip to Vegas.  I wanted to tell you about one of the cool things I saw there.

If you haven't heard, I turn 40 next week.  While it wasn't a mid-life crisis thing, I took a quick trip with my buddies to Vegas last weekend.

Last year, my friend Jeff suggested we try the 'High Roller' in Vegas.  While you and I would call it a ferris wheel, the folks who run it refer to it as an observation wheel.

I rolled my eyes and laughed at him...  "Why would we go all the way to Vegas to ride a ferris wheel?"

I was wrong... it's pretty cool... and it's HUGE.

At 550 feet tall and 520 feet in diameter, it's the world's tallest wheel of its kind.

I'm afraid of heights, but the wheel turns slow enough and the car is big enough that it's pretty tolerable.  While the each car can hold up to 40 people, we must have gone at a slow time of the day as we had a car all to ourselves.

It does cost more to go at night, but we figured day would be great as we could see Vegas for miles around.  (If you go, be sure to look online.  If you buy your tickets that way you can save $7 a ticket.)

Travel + Leisure called the 'High Roller' one of the "25 selfies you have to take this year."

Check.

There are screens all around the inside of the car and the dude that narrates the ride is pretty annoying, but the ride itself is awesome, so make sure you put this on your list the next time you're visiting sin city.

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but I would definitely share this gem with your friends and family!
