All the Details on ‘Summer’s Last Blast’
If you’ve won a prize in the last 45 days, chances are it included one of these handy-dandy fliers for Summer’s Last Blast-15 that kicks off tomorrow night in the Town Clock Plaza. Let me give you all the details so you’re set for this weekend…
It’s hard to believe that this is the 15th edition of this great music event. I still remember when Scott Thomas (Eagle 102) and Ken Peiffer (WJOD) started planning their first event. It was in the Diamond Jo Casino parking lot (when it was still a boat) and featured great jams from the Lovemonkeys and Wang Chung.
Here we are 15 years later and Scott and Ken’s Music and More Productions has donated over $50,000 to area charities through events like Summer’s Last Blast.
Here’s the skinny. Grab your family and friends and head to the Town Clock Plaza both Friday and Saturday night this weekend from 5 to midnight. There’s NO COVER so you get to jam for free both nights.
Friday night it’s Cheap Thrill, Menace and Hard Salami. Saturday night it’s Half Fast, Johnny Trash and fan-favorites The Spazmatics!
Don’t bother eating before you come as there will be a ton of vendors selling food, including the Wigwam, Georgies Sweet Treats, Rhody’s Food and Spirits, Papa Johns and Uncle Timmy’s Sandwich Shop.
Proceeds this year will help Sertoma, Hospice of Dubuque and a few other local charities and is sponsored in part by the Diamond Jo Casino, The Holiday Inn-Dubuque, Budweiser and Y105!
