While I was back in my hometown of Rochester, MN for Christmas, my brother-in-law told me about a phone game he'd been playing for a while called 'SimCity BuildIt'. Initially, I refrained from putting the game on my phone as I was already playing another phone game, 'Trivia Crack', way too much.

A few weeks passed and I caved. I downloaded the game and began building my city. If you're familiar with the PC version of SimCity that's been around for many years, it's the same concept - build a thriving city and make necessary additions to keep the inhabitants (the Sims) happy.

There are a few wrinkles with this version since I last played a Sims game in late 90's. You can trade materials your factories produce on a global market with other people playing the game.

Would I recommend this to others? I'm torn. Part of me wants to recommend you download it to your phone and enjoy the game. The other part of me realizes how addicting (and really kind of dumb if you think about it) this game is and doesn't want you to become a victim.

If you do indeed download the game, click HERE for a few tips as you get started.
