The spooky vibes were out in full force on Friday, October 20th, 2023, as Asbury, IA was lit up by headlights, strobe-lights, and various other decorations for the annual Halloween Parade.

The Asbury Halloween Parade is a yearly staple around this time of year. It's a time when children and adults alike gather at/around the Lord of Life Church, and watch dozens of vehicles from local organizations cruise down the streets of the quaint residential town that is Asbury.

Countless kids and adults lined the streets of Hales Mill Road, Springreen Drive, and more to catch a glimpse of vehicles of all shapes, sizes, and scares ride through the area. Among the noteworthy vehicles were the Asbury Community Fire Department, the Asbury Police Department, the Dubuque Karate Club, and even the Galena Ghostbusters.

That's right, the Galena Ghostbusters, a costume-based fan group dedicated to the 1984 blockbuster of the same name. They drove in the parade blasting the instantly recognizable Ray Parker, Jr. hit single, and managed to be one of the most memorable groups in the entire parade.

An event like this couldn't happen without some outstanding volunteers. As noted by Asbury Music in the Park on Facebook, credit is due to AACRF, as well as The City of Asbury, Asbury Police, and Asbury Fire Departments. Local business sponsors include: Asbury Eagles Club, Remax, and Premier Bank.

There's nothing quite like a town parade, but there's also nothing quite like a Halloween parade in general. It's fun to see kids and adults dressed in their costumes, and everyone from ballerinas, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, zombies, and even Michael Myers was in attendance for the annual Asbury Halloween Parade.
