For years, I simply didn't eat breakfast. In fact, when I was a kid I HATED breakfast food. Over the years, I've developed an appreciation for omelets, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, hash browns, etc.

Yet, I still wouldn't eat the "most important meal of the day" on a daily basis; opting to eat lunch around 11:30 a.m.

A few months ago, I decided to change that due in large part to my routine not allowing me to get lunch until nearly 1 p.m. these days.

I've settled into a breakfast I enjoy eating on a daily basis: Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Almond Bar, banana and coffee with Dunkin' Donuts creamer.

I've noticed a couple of things (which were all very predictable): I have more energy at the gym and I'm not as hungry at lunch which, in turn, allows me to eat less.

Breakfast still isn't my favorite meal of the day, but after 30+ years I'm starting to experience the importance of it.
