Call Me Anytime

While some people dread answering the phone out of fear there's a pesky telemarketer on the line, I love getting their calls.

I'll be honest, as a kid I used to love making crank calls.  Dialing up a random number and making funny voices.

Then the caller I.D. came along and it spoiled the long running art of the crank call.  I remember the first time we picked a random number and after hanging up, the phone rang back and it was an irate guy on the other end.

Bart Simpson used to be the king, calling Moe's Tavern and asking for a funny name, then Moe shouting when the realization, embarrassment and anger set in.  (You can hear some of the best audio from his calls below...)

Nowadays, the only pleasure I get is when the phone rings randomly in the late afternoon or evening.

I always mess with the telemarketers who dial the house.

Sometimes I pretend I'm old and can't hear them, so I keep saying "Whaaaaaat" until they hang up.

Other times I inform the caller the person they're looking for died last week, and how dare they keep calling my house!

Most of the time they get uncomfortable and hang up.  Then me and my wife bust up laughing.

So feel free and call away.  Sometimes it's the best part of my day.
