My wife has been begging me for the last year (probably longer) to agree we need a new mattress. I've used every technique: changing the subject, highlighting the benefits of our 10-year old mattress (that was hard), explaining we have other priorities that we need to spend the money on first, etc.

Why? Because they do almost as much listening as talking. They want you to tell them how you sleep. They'll listen to you and then make suggestions that will help you sleep better.

I'll be going into more detail about the mattress I sleep on in the coming weeks and why my wife and I are sleeping better than we EVER have (even with a baby waking us up occasionally).
