Ok.  I know that every so often science creates an advancement that revolutionizes the medical world… but seriously, why did it take so long to come up with this one?

I’m talking about the nasal flu shot.

As a kid I absolutely dreaded a visit to the doctor’s office.  If I thought there might be a shot involved I would get a queasy stomach and weak in the knees.

So now they do this flu shot that comes in a nasal mist.  The doctor or nurse sticks a small syringe-looking thing into your nose.  As they squeeze the plunger, you inhale.  That’s it.  No pain.

Seriously?  Why did it take so long to come up with this?

Even better, after me and my son Jacob got our flu shot, we got really cool stickers for being good patients!  (Mine’s a Captain America!)

So if you’re like me… no need to avoid the doctor’s office anymore when it comes to your flu shot, which you should be getting anyway!

God bless science!
