Over the weekend, I was in Minnesota and went out with friends on Saturday night. We were at a bar and a few of the people in our group were talking about buying pull-tabs.

I casually mentioned that I thought it would be fun to try it and that I had never done it before. This created a record-scratching pause in the conversations happening all around me. I was asked, "you've NEVER bought a pull-tab?!"

Nope. Never. I'm sure a big reason is that I've lived in Dubuque, Iowa the last 10 years - where casinos have been in my backyard. Pull-tabs aren't nearly as popular in the Tri-State area as they are in Rochester, MN, where a casino is 45 minutes away.

I'm not a big gambler at all (trust me, I have my vices) so I might not be the guy to ask when evaluating the excitement of pull-tabs, but I think it might be the quickest, most unrewarding $20 I've ever spent.
