My Daughter Loves Her Play Mat

Last week, my wife insisted we buy our daughter, Lydia, a play mat. I agreed but questioned how much a 1-month old baby would enjoy it. After 3 days, I can assure you that there was no need to question.

Saturday afternoon, I set the mat up but realized we didn't have batteries to place inside the hanging turtle's shell that allows the shell to blink vibrant lights and play music. We placed her on the mat anyway and she was moderately interested in her surroundings.

My parents were in town and, my Dad being as awesome as he is, came over on Sunday with a large supply of batteries. I was at our station's Farm and Ag Show, but I received a phone call from my wife exclaiming, "she LOVES the play mat!".

Yep, that music-playing, light-blinking turtle is the centerpiece of this play mat. Without the turtle, there is no play mat. At least not one that she enjoys PLAYING on. Last night, I spent a half hour with Lydia on the play mat and she truly does love it.
