Dubuque Boutique Set to Close in February

A beloved boutique in Dubuque announced this week that they would be closing in short order, breaking the hearts of many loyal customers, who have made it a clothing destination for several years.

Accessorize Me's roots in Dubuque go back more than a decade. Its owner, Ali Bandy, started working at the shop part-time in 2011 before taking it over in 2021. She oversaw the store moving from its University Avenue location to 3100 Cedar Crest Ridge, Suite 5, where it resides today. It's the quintessential American small business success story.

Accessorize Me is Closing in February:

Accessorize Me took to Facebook this week to announce that they would be closing in February. The post, signed by Ali, Kim, Jojo, Melissa, Kristina, and Denise, expressed gratitude and joy for their customers and their history in Dubuque.

Accessorize Me specialized in a plethora of different items, including blouses, bottoms, and dresses, in addition to handbags, jewelry, and special occasion jewelry. Bandy also took it upon herself to collaborate with other businesses to sell local crafts and other products, in addition to making donations to the University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children’s Hospital:

After much thought and consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close Accessorize Me. This was not an easy choice, and it comes after careful evaluation of many factors.

How Accessorize Me Will Operate in its Final Weeks:

The shop stated that they plan to keep their store hours the same despite its imminent closure, and encouraged customers to stay up to date with their Facebook page. In addition, Accessorize Me still plans to add new items to the sales floor as they arrive, as well as storewide promotions:
