Ally Brooke and Adrienne Houghton Channel Late Singer Selena in Karaoke Session (VIDEO)
Sorry, friends — your margarita-soaked, guacamole-pasted Cinco de Mayo celebrations will have to settle for second best: Ally Brooke and Adrienne Bailon joined forces for a Selena Quintanilla tribute that'll have you shouting CIELOS!
The former Fifth Harmony member posted an Instagram photo Sunday (May 5) in which she and Bailon belt through the late pop star's 1992 hit "Como La Flor" while dressed in a pair of Quintanilla's most identifiable outfits. "Me diste tú / Se marchitó / Me marcho hoy / Yo sé perder," they croon as audiences at the karaoke party cheer them on.
"Best karaoke partner. LOVE YOU @adriennebailon !!!!! Such a fun party! #Selena #CincoDeMayo," Brooke captioned the video.
And fans went wild over the rendition, too.
"If y'all can do a track together and kill us all that would be the absolute greatest," one wrote, while another noted "my three favorite latinas in one video I’m living."
Brooke also shared a video in which she makes her way to the party, and shouts-out the talent behind her jarring blond-to-black hair transformation. "HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!" she captioned the clip, in which she lip syncs to the very same track.
Quintanilla was shot and killed in March 1995 by her fan club manager Yolanda Saldívar, who'd been embezzling money from the operation as well as a series of Quintanilla's boutiques. The singer was the first Latina artist to have a mostly Spanish-language album, 1996's Dreaming of You, open at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
