Boys & Girls Club of Dubuque Helps Youth Reach Their Potential

When it comes to supporting local non-profits, there might not be an easier and more impactful program than Kwik Care.

If you're not aware, Kwik Care has helped raise both funds and awareness for local nonprofits. Each month, Kwik Stop and Dairy Queen help collect donations for a different organization. Donations can be made easily by requesting your total purchase at any of those businesses (including at the gas pumps at Kwik Stop) be rounded up to the nearest dollar. The additional cents used to round up will be donated to the respective charity of the month.

This month's Kwik Care recipient is the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Dubuque. Heather Hamm of Kwik Stop/Rainbo Oil and Casey from The Boys & Girls Club stopped in the studio to talk about all the great things the nonprofit does in the community.

Like the name suggests, the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Dubuque is invested in the youth of today, and designed to help them reach their full potential. Casey spoke about how they are an organization predicated on five core programs:

Physical Activity: Sports and recreation to encourage teamwork, fitness, and fun.
Brain Health: Programs that promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, and brain health awareness.
Leadership and Life Skills: Building confidence, responsibility, and skills for a successful future.
