We finally took our son, Jacob, out to see 'Inside Out' over the weekend.  If you're planning on going, I suggest you take some tissues with you.

First off, it's a really nice movie.  The colors are bright, the voices are fun and it's a really cool looking film.

While I was expecting to sit back and laugh for a good 90 minutes (comedian Lewis Black plays anger, after all...), I was actually shocked at how deep and adult the concept of the movie really goes.

The story revolves around an 11-year old mid-western girl named Riley.

At the start of the movie, Riley is a baby and we meet her first emotion, Joy, played by former Saturday Night Live cast member Amy Poehler.

Joy is joined by other emotions, including sadness, fear, anger and disgust.

Riley and her family leave her home in Minnesota to move to San Francisco.  Without giving to much away, she encounters real moments of sadness, anger and fear.

In her mind, the characters deal with the possibility of Riley forgetting things including key moments of her adolescence and innocence.

These are story lines I think most adults can relate to and you'll be lucky to escape the theater dry-eyed!

It's a really good flick.  I was just shocked at how deep the story really is.  I was trying to figure out if this was really a mom-and-dad movie played off like a kid's movie!
